Position Description: Intern

Reporting to: Emilie Faure, Collection and Exhibitions Manager

Duration: 3 months

Days per week: 5 days

Hours: 12am-8pm, 1 hour for lunch

Location: The Farjam Collection, DIFC Gate Village 4.

 

 

Description

The Farjam Collection internships are open to candidates who display an interest in art and/or education. As part of the Farjam Collection team, the position will support activities related to current and forthcoming exhibitions held in the Exhibition space within the DIFC. Interns will be involved in initiatives such as planning upcoming exhibition and educational programmes, reaching new audiences, as well as day-to-day operational support. Interns will gain exposure to the activities of the Farjam Collection and participate in increasing its reach within the DIFC, Dubai, and the art world at large.

 

Please note that The Farjam Collection does not cover cover the cost of flights and accommodation incurred in the duration of the programme.  Interns receive a stipend of 100AED per day.

 

 

General requirements

Candidates will only be considered if enrolled in or having completed a BA or the equivalent. Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory, other languages and Arabic in particular are a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel is needed as well as experience of using information management systems and of conducting internet-based research.

 

Successful candidates will be well-presented and have a demonstrated ability to multi task. There will be a three-week trial period to ensure that the candidate and team work well together.
