The Farjam Foundation is pleased to announce Boundless Geometry, an exhibition of selected works by Rana Begum from The Farjam Collection, curated by Lisa A. Farjam. Opening on 13 May 2026, the exhibition will remain on view through 13 September 2026 at The Farjam Foundation in DIFC, Dubai.
Widely recognized for her exploration of light, colour, geometry, and spatial perception, Rana Begum has developed a distinctive artistic language that moves fluidly between sculpture, painting, and installation. Through the use of industrial materials such as painted steel, mirrored stainless steel, resin, and fishing net, her works transform geometric structures into sensory and atmospheric experiences that shift continuously according to light, movement, and the position of the viewer.
In Boundless Geometry, geometry becomes more than a formal system; it becomes a vehicle for rhythm, balance, and contemplation. Suspended mesh installations appear weightless, reflective surfaces fragment and refract colour across space, and sculptural forms dissolve into shadow and light. Throughout the exhibition, Begum creates environments that encourage stillness and reflection, offering moments of visual calm within an increasingly fractured contemporary world.
While her practice draws upon the visual traditions of abstraction, architecture, and Islamic geometry, Begum resists fixed interpretations or rigid systems. Instead, her works remain open, experiential, and deeply human — inviting viewers into a meditative encounter with form, perception, and space.
Through this exhibition, The Farjam Foundation continues its commitment to presenting significant voices in modern and contemporary art while fostering dialogues between historical visual traditions and contemporary artistic practice.
